1 Acceptance of Terms
The Best Companies Live Event (“Event”) that Best Companies Limited (“Best Companies”) provides to you is subject to the following Registration Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”). By registering for, attending or otherwise participating in the Event, you confirm you have read, understand, accept and agree to these Terms and Conditions. Best Companies reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice to you. Any (“Personal Data”) as per the meaning in the UK Data Protection Act 2018 will be processed as described in the Event (“Privacy Notice”). The most current version of these Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice can be reviewed by clicking on the “Terms and Conditions” or “Privacy Notice” link within the Event platform.
2 Best Companies Digital Code of Conduct
Best Companies mission is to ‘Make the World a Better Workplace’. This includes all Best Companies events and gatherings, including on digital platforms, where we seek to create a respectful, friendly, fun and inclusive experience for all participants.
All party participants are required to provide true and accurate information and expected to participate within the Event in good faith. Individuals found or reported to be providing false and/ or misleading information and/or partaking in misrepresentation, will be considered for removal from the Event.
We expect all digital event participants to uphold the principles of this Code of Conduct, which covers the main digital event and all related activities. We do not tolerate disruptive or disrespectful behaviour, messages, images, or interactions by any party participant, in any form, at any aspect of the program including business and social activities, regardless of location.
Best Companies will not tolerate harassment or discrimination based on age, ancestry, colour, gender identity or expression, national origin, physical or mental disability, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
Best Companies reserves the right to refuse admittance to or remove any party participant at any time without prior notice, from the Best Companies Live Event at its sole discretion. Best Companies decision for removal is final and no discussions will be entered into.
We encourage everyone to assist in creating a welcoming and safe environment. Please report any concerns, harassing behaviour, suspicious, or disruptive activity to Best Companies ([email protected]). Best Companies reserves the right to refuse admittance to or remove any person from the Event at any time at its sole discretion.
3. Intellectual Property
Photography, video or recording of session content or presentations by any means, of any conference sessions at Best Companies Live Event by registrants, attendees, delegates and/or third parties is strictly prohibited without the express consent from Best Companies. All right, title, and interest, including all intellectual property rights, in and to the Event and all technologies related thereto, including any and all algorithms or processes developed by Best Companies and all derivatives, modifications, or improvements of or to any of the foregoing made by or for, whether or not created or developed in connection with the Event shall be and remain vested in Best Companies.
Nothing in this agreement will function to transfer any of either party's intellectual property rights to the other party, and each party will retain exclusive interest in and ownership of its intellectual property developed before this Terms and Conditions or developed outside the scope of this agreement. Any materials provided by Best Companies remain the intellectual property of Best Companies Limited or its partners, as applicable, and unless otherwise specified in writing, are solely for information and non-commercial or personal use only. Use for any other purpose is expressly prohibited.
By attending the Event, you acknowledge that Best Companies (or its authorised representatives) making certain recordings of the Event in which your name, image, voice and/or likeness may appear; these recordings may be by any means including, without limitation, electronic recording, film, videotape, audio tape and photography (the “Recordings”). You grant to Best Companies and its authorised representatives the unrestricted, irrevocable and perpetual right and release to use your name, image, voice and/or likeness in connection with the exploitation of the Recordings for any purpose, in any and all media throughout the world, without compensation of any kind to you. You agree that Best Companies shall be the copyright owner of the Recordings. You understand that Best Companies is not obligated to use the Recordings.
To the best of your knowledge, your acts and statements contained in the Recordings will not violate any right of any other person or company.
You release Best Companies from any claims and causes of action you may have now or in the future based upon defamation, invasion of right of privacy, publicity or personality, copyright or trademark infringement and unfair competition in connection with the Recordings and Best Companies use of the Recordings and you agree not to institute any legal action based on any of the grounds specific in this section, and you waive all rights to any equitable relief in connection herewith.
4. Event Participation
Registration Requirements. In order to participate in the Event, all required registration information must be received by Best Companies by the applicable deadline(s) published on the Event registration Web page.
Age Requirements. Attendees must be 18 years of age or older, and any attendee under 18 years of age is considered a “Child” for purposes of the Event.
We may deny, limit, or cancel your registration for the Event at any time. We are not responsible for any damages, direct or indirect, resulting from such cancellation.
Updates. Notifications and communications about the Event will be communicated across social media platforms using the hashtag #BestCompaniesLive
Force majeure. In the event that Best Companies is prevented from carrying out its obligations as a result of any cause beyond its control, such as but not limited to an act of God, war, natural disaster, a public health epidemic and/or pandemic, acts or threats of terrorism, civil disturbance, action by governmental entity, strikes, lock-outs, curtailments of transportation services or facilities, the failure of any third party to deliver goods or services for the Event, or any other situation that makes it impossible, illegal or commercially unfeasible for Best Companies to hold the Event, Best Companies reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Event, and shall be relieved of its obligations and liabilities in connection therewith.
Event emails. Please note: event emails will be sent to the email address you provided during registration. If you are not receiving event communications, please check your ‘junk’, ‘spam’, or ‘clutter’ folders to confirm your email settings have not redirected the emails. In addition, please add [email protected] to your ‘safe sender’ list to ensure you receive future communications for this event.
5. Data Protection
Best Companies does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.
By registering for or attending the Event, you acknowledge Best Companies has a requirement to collect Personal Data, for the facilitation of the Event and to provide you with the requested services. Best Companies will process any Personal Data it is provided from participants party to the Event as a Data Controller. Processing of the Personal Data will be conducted as set out in the Event Privacy Notice.
5.1 Privacy and Protection of Personal Information
By registering for the Event you acknowledge Best Companies may contact you regarding your attendance at the Event where:
- The contact information supplied during registration will be used to send you relevant Event related information.
- Information you provide during registration will be used by Best Companies for the purposes of assessing the business requirements and areas of interest of attending individuals and companies as described in the Event Privacy Notice.
- The Contact information may be used for marketing communications, where it is in our Legitimate Interest to do so or where you have Consented for us to do so. You may opt out or withdraw that consent at any time.
Best Companies will process all Personal Data securely by means of ‘appropriate technical and organisational measures’.
6. Limitation of liability
Except as otherwise set forth in these Terms and Conditions, your participation in the Event and all services, information and materials provided in connection with the event are provided by Best Companies and/or its respective suppliers “as is” without warranty or condition of any kind. Best Companies and/or its respective suppliers hereby disclaim all warranties, including all warranties and conditions, whether express implied or statutory, of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Best Companies and/or its respective suppliers be liable for any personal injury or property loss or damage, or any other loss including any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, special or exemplary damages arising out of or that relate to this Terms and Conditions, participation in the Event or the services, information or materials provided in connection with the event. This exclusion applies regardless of the legal theory for the claim and even if the party is advised of the possibility of such damages.
